Epitaph for the Bastardead
Here there and everywhere lies
Mobbed by maggots, kissed by flies,
Another who lived poor, oppressed and cheated
And died bastardized and bastarded,
With shabu sachet and paltik 38,
Abrupt end is the doomed fate,
Instant death penalty
Has become too easy and free.
Authorities unauthorized autopsies.
The less unlucky could reclaim
a legal name in obituaries.
The more unfortunates
rot not rest in ashes and aliases.
